Cloisonné Enamel Earrings
Hand-bent gold wire draws the outline of bird, flower or auspicious beast; mineral enamel is set inside each cell. Light enough for daily wear, formal enough for couture.
Forged red copper substrate — the only metal whose thermal behaviour matches mineral enamel, used in cloisonné since the Ming dynasty.
Wire is bent by hand along a master drawing, then soldered cell by cell — the architecture every colour will eventually fill.
Cobalt blue, chrome green, selenium red, cadmium yellow — milled to 200 mesh, washed, then packed wet into each gold cell.
Linghua’s proprietary medium fixes the enamel without kiln firing — preserving fine wire, inset gemstones and the gem-like granularity of pigment.
Optional setting of freshwater pearl, Hetian jade, agate or turquoise alongside the enamel — finished as gallery-grade jewellery.
Findings, clasps and chains in 925 silver or 14K gold — chosen to outlast the enamel itself.
A hand drawing fixes silhouette, wire route and colour layout before a single millimetre of copper is touched.
The red-copper substrate is forged; gold-plated wire is bent and soldered along the drawing — even spacing, fluid turns.
Mineral enamel is milled and washed to 200 mesh. The finer the grain, the purer the colour packed into each cell.
Wet enamel is packed cell by cell with a fine brush, layer over layer, until colour saturation reads true to the original drawing.
Linghua’s ambient-set medium fixes the enamel without firing — fine wire stays straight, inset gemstones stay safe, pigment keeps its grain.
Pearl, jade or turquoise are set; the piece is mounted onto 925 silver or 14K gold findings and finished as a wearable object.
Lightweight earrings and pendants suited to everyday clothing — cloisonné as quiet ornament.
Brooches and hairpins designed for tailoring, evening wear, hanfu and qipao.
Bespoke hairpins, pendants and bracelet sets with engraved dedications and matched bridal motifs.
Editioned brooches and pendants presented in lacquer boxes with bilingual certificates of authenticity.
Cloisonné jewelry is wearable cloisonné enamel — a centuries-old technique in which fine metal wire (here, gold-plated wire on a red-copper base) is bent into the outline of an image, soldered down, and the cells filled with coloured mineral enamel. Linghua sets the enamel at ambient temperature rather than firing in a kiln, which preserves fine wire architecture and lets us combine cloisonné with set pearls and gemstones.
Vintage cloisonné jewelry is typically kiln-fired and limited to enamel-only construction. Linghua’s ambient-set process keeps fine wire detail intact, allows freshwater pearl, jade or turquoise to be set alongside the enamel, and pairs the enamel object with 925 silver or 14K gold findings — closer in finish to contemporary fine jewellery than to museum-vintage objects.
Wipe with a soft, dry cloth after wearing. Avoid prolonged contact with perfume, alcohol, chlorine and ultrasonic cleaners. Store flat in the original lacquer box, away from direct sunlight. Mineral enamel does not fade; with this care, a Linghua piece is intended to be worn for a lifetime and inherited afterwards.
