Craft & Material Glossary

Craft Glossary · EN

Cloisonné

Wirework

Flattened copper wire bent to the design and welded to the body, forming the outlines of every motif. The fineness and curvature of the line define the work's spirit.

Enamelling

Pigment Filling

Mineral pigments (quartz, feldspar, borax) ground and mixed, then filled cell-by-cell into the wire pattern.

Firing

Kiln Firing

Kiln-fired at approximately 800°C; the fill-and-fire cycle is repeated 4–6 times until the enamel surface is even and full.

Polishing

Grinding & Polish

Sandstone, charcoal and brushes used in graded steps to bring enamel and wire to the same plane, revealing a soft luminous finish.

Gilding

Gold Plating

Pure gold electroplated onto exposed copper (wire edges and base), guarding against oxidation and adding splendour.

Copper Body

Substrate

Hand-hammered red or yellow copper — the skeleton that carries the enamel colour.

Tian-Tsui

Kingfisher Accent

Blue mineral or modern equivalent inlay used as accent, echoing Qing-court jewellery traditions.

Jingtai Blue

Jingtailan

The name for copper-bodied cloisonné enamel that flourished in the Jingtai era (Ming dynasty); listed as national intangible cultural heritage of China.

FAQ · Frequently Asked

About custom gifting, what to know

01What is the minimum order for corporate gifts?+

Micro-custom gifts start at 30 pieces; keepsake series are best from 50 pieces with tiered pricing; full-custom artist editions can be ordered as a single piece.

02Can you wire-inlay our brand logo?+

Yes. Provide a vector logo (AI / SVG / PDF). Our masters translate it into a cloisonné-appropriate pattern and produce a confirmation sample before batch production.

03Can private (B2C) clients order a single piece?+

Yes. Private custom orders begin at one piece. Full-custom: 6–12 weeks. Micro-custom: 2–4 weeks.

04Do you provide tax invoices and B2B payment?+

Yes. We support VAT invoices, corporate transfer, purchase agreements and NDAs.

05How are copyright and design rights handled?+

Micro-custom: copyright belongs to Linghua; the custom element's usage right belongs to the client. Full-custom: first-use right belongs to the client, with exclusive or resale terms negotiable.

06Does shipping include gift packaging?+

Every gift-grade product ships with an independent presentation box (with greeting card and certificate). Batch orders include wooden case consolidation and insured logistics.

07Do you provide an artist certificate of authenticity?+

All full-custom and collector-grade works ship with a hand-numbered, artist-signed certificate of authenticity, ready for collection and inheritance records.

08How many design revisions are included?+

Full-custom includes two rounds of complimentary design revision and one round of sample adjustment. Additional rounds are billed by hour.
